"Agreed, especially considering our numbers are far fewer. Now that there are no residents living within the city, it stands to reason any new threat will have nothing to attack other than us. We have found evidence of civilization in the new territory outside the city, but that is not to say they are like any of us. Until they are found, there is no way of knowing for certain."
Unlike several of the other transplants, Cas had no fear of what lay out there, though he felt it was best to proceed with caution. After his experiences with humanity, it was best to assume the worst and hope for the best, to use yet another human phrase. Otherwise, the results could be damaging to say the very least. He did not wish to have something new to hunt, however. He was content with what they already had, namely because he needed no instruction on how to destroy such threats.
"From what I've seen on the network, it seems there are some who dislike change. That could be somewhat problematic in time."
He knew that he was not the best or brightest, but he'd learned that when humans became uncomfortable, they often became irrational. That could not be helpful to anyone at such a time, though he was hoping he was wrong.
