There was a formality about Castiel that was almost old fashioned, and Steve appreciated it. Unlike many of the modern day he wasn't put off by it, he simply considered it as part of his personality and offered a small smile in return.
"Yeah, I am," Steve responded, the smile fading from his lips. He had been caught off guard- a rare thing, and something he'd work out. It was a very rare thing that he should be taken by surprise, but the creature had the advantage of timing and flight.
That wouldn't happen again.
"I saw you during the fight, but I lost track of you pretty quickly. I see you're whole," he continued. "We didn't lose anybody, which is a miracle. I'm not sure that we won, though."
