"I'd like that, thank you," Jonathan said softly. Part of him was tempted to ask if they could go now, but getting his bearings sounded like a really good idea. Maybe a quick recap?
He was in New York. An alternate reality where Andrew had been for a while. Andrew who was from the future, Anna who was from the future was his friend and was powerful somehow, but wasn't a witch. Then there was Severus Snape, obviously from the past and a book, who knew Andrew somehow... Jonathan wasn't about to get nosy and ask someone like Professor Snape for details.
He was here and apparently somehow he'd died and Andrew was torn up about it. So much so that he made a wish that either switched their places or somehow drew him here and pushed Andrew somewhere else. It was obviously worrying Anna and Severus was... caustic. It was uncanny how he was reacting to things. It was so much like the book it was eerie!
Looking up to the two of them, Jonathan drew in a short breath, composing himself and accepting the re-run he'd just run through his head. "Okay. Obviously I'm in way over my head with all this, and you're obviously worried about something big that's going on, some kind of fight? I don't want to be in the way, especially if I don't understand... so maybe we should go to Andrew's place now. I mean, I don't want to snoop through his stuff too much or anything, but maybe I can find some answers there and find some way to help while you guys do what you have to."
Pausing for a moment, Jonathan offered a small smile as he added, "No one should have to live with guilt, you know? And maybe Andrew, whenever he comes back, can fight better if he's not so torn up. He's my friend and I don't want anything bad to happen to him. Especially so far away from home and all. I mean, neither of us exactly travelled much outside of Sunnydale."
