Anna nodded. "About as long as I have. Maybe a little less. I dunno...time's all sort of starting to melt together now, but he's here. He's okay. I know that's hard to believe without any kind of proof, but I promise you. He's grown a lot. He's...a little ahead of you. In terms of time. But then again, that's just how this place works. I'm from 2008. Severus is from 1997. Pretty sure Andrew is from 2004. We just kind of get used to it."
She didn't know what to say to alleviate Jonathan's fear, so she didn't try. There were things he needed to know, no matter how hard they might be and lies weren't about to make the problem any easier. It was probably a good thing Snape didn't like beating around the bush either. That probably would've made the situation a whole lot harder. "As for this place, it's like a reality separate from all other realities. In most cases, I'd say you're just from a different reality with a different timeline from Andrew. We get that a lot here. But usually, one person doesn't replace another. Not in this way."
Snape crossed his arms, still looming behind Anna as if he were either waiting to strike or just didn't want to get too close. She couldn't decide which, but then again, she figured that was why he was a Slytherin. They weren't supposed to be understood. Not until the very end. "I will examine it in due time, but to me, it seems quite clear that Wells in his infinite stupidity made a wish."
At that, Anna spun around, glaring. "Don't look at me like that, you know full well it's true," Snape replied, glaring. "It's painfully obvious and we both know where his utmost regrets lie."
