It was amazing how accurate Snape was to his portrayal in the books! It was intimidating as all get out, but that's exactly how Jonathan pictured the professor being. Jonathan couldn't decide whether to keep backing away from him as a result or barrage him with a multitude of questions about what it was like to grow up with magic, how he used it, and why and how he was here...
But it seemed like he could tie that in somehow. He could tie it in to why and how Andrew was here. Especially when he'd just seen his friend no more than a few minutes ago as they were discussion how to approach Buffy and her friends. It was kind of a big deal and they wanted to get it right. That couldn't have happened if Andrew was here unless... another reality. Something different, a different choice creating a different reality? Or something. Or maybe he was pulled from the future? But then... no. Okay. Talk, Jonathan. Ask.
"So Andrew's been here a while? He has to be from some altered reality, or realities are fluid enough for that kind of thing to happen because I was talking to him and we've been stuck with each other for months now and he didn't leave to go to another place in time for a while," Jonathan thought aloud, trying to make sure he had everything straight as he came to his questions. "So what about this fountain? The one I was standing next to when I showed up?"
He looked between the two of them again, imploringly. "What does that have to do with my being here and Andrew suddenly not? If it's a cursed object, then we should find a way to reverse the curse or undo the enchantment." But if that meant Andrew being stuck here instead... unless this was where he belonged somehow?
Oh, he just didn't know! Breathe. Calm down. Let the answers come as the questions come. Relax.
