"No offense is taken, Mr. Levinson. I assure you, I would dare imagine I would have no chance of meeting the likes of you either, were fortune indeed on my side," Severus replied curly, crossing his arms.
As for Anna, controlling her expression was something she figured she should have learned early on. The problem was, there was too much human in her to care about that. Now she realized it might've been a good idea to take Castiel's angelic nature into consideration. Angelic bluntness came in handy, no matter how painful it was. "That's how both of us knew you," she said gently. "Andrew is stuck here. Usually. Just like me, just like Severus here. That's just how this place seems to work. We both met him by chance...been friends ever since."
Severus rolled his eyes yet again. If there was anything he vastly disliked, it was being equated to anything other than an associate of Wells or anyone else within the city. He was not there to befriend or to forge bonds, he was there for yet another reason that remained undefined. To see it as anything else was not only foolish, but pathetically childlike as well. "Hardly," he replied. "Wells has been of some assistance, though he can be just as much of a nuisance as he is an asset. The only reason you're likely here is because of that fountain, which I assume Miss Milton will be getting to. As to whether it's cursed or enchanted however, should be the primary concern of everyone in this room."
Anna bit the inside of her cheek hard, looking over her shoulder to glare at Severus. "You're only here because I allow you to be," she reminded him. "I know you're scared right now. We all are."
She didn't care if that bothered him - him trying to deny that he cared about Andrew seemed pointless to her, considering he wouldn't have responded to Jonathan so quickly otherwise. She knew that knee-jerk reaction well. Turning back to Jonathan, she shook her head. "Don't worry about that right now. This is your time to ask questions. Not ours."
