Half the time, Nathan wondered if Izzie and Meredith weren’t just from some weird planet parallel to Earth and trying to live as humans. Political career aside, he didn’t get not going to weddings or parties, but then again, that could just be the traditional Italian Catholic sensibility. He and Peter hadn’t exactly grown up normally. And even thinking of Ma had him finishing off his drink whether or not Peter might’ve had something to say about that.
Nathan shrugged at her question. “Drunk enough to ask you to dance, although that’s providing you’re capable of standing up straight,” he teased.
He figured it couldn’t be that bad – he liked Izzie. She made sense and he figured they both needed a reason to forget what’d happened to them in the past week. “Or hit me in the face again,” he added.
