WHO: Dean Winchester (deanlovespie) & Cole MacGrath
WHEN: Late evening (way, WAY backdated, as in ages ago)
WHERE: The cramped streets of Manhattan
WHAT: A meeting of conduit, monster, and man!
WARNINGS: Violence! And cursing, most likely. Lots of cursing.
See, Cole was no hunter. He knew this! Cas told him pretty blatantly that if someone like him were too exist back in Cas' reality, he'd be the hunted and not a hunter. But as luck would have it, this was neither of their home worlds and he could do whatever the hell he wanted! And right now, he was doing his thing! His thing which happened to mean wandering the city, trying to push and expand upon his powers however he could.
He knew that, in time, he'd possess some pretty insane abilities. After meeting (and killing) a future self from a timeline that didn't exist any more because of Kessler's damned meddling, Cole had gotten a sneak peak at himself in a couple decades or so. Maybe longer. Cole didn't even know how old Kessler had been by then, but he had plenty of years stacked on, making him look completely evil, sinister, and like the total ass he was. But he was powerful. He could move as fast as lightning, teleport, create electrical doppelgangers, and even travel through time. Course, the time travel thing was a one-way trip, so going back meant you were stuck there.
If he ever got that power, he sure as shit wasn't using it. Nah, might as well stick with the here and now, develop his electrical powers and Kuo's ice powers. Why not, right? He'd already died back home and this place was as good as any to become stronger and simply live again. This was his city, his home... Empire City with a new name and a few changes here and there, but it was the city he'd grown up in and had fought so hard to save. He'd failed in that mission and Empire City was left a crater thanks to the Beast. So much for Kessler's grand plan.
So no, he wasn't a hunter, but when shit went down that put people's lives at risk? He was going to look into it. Which was precisely why, after leaping off a nearby building and landing in a dark, shady looking alley, Cole stopped dead in his tracks and switched out of 'monkeying around' mode and right into 'this shit's serious' mode.
A dead body, tucked away in a dark corner, surrounded by skin, teeth, hair, and nails. The deceased man was completely in tact, apart from the slit throat, so... where did all the rest come from? Cursing under his breath, Cole kneeled before the deceased man, raising a hand to hover over his head, tapping into the last electrical signals his brain fired, allowing him to see what the stranger saw before dying.
Another man, skin partially ripped off his neck and arms. He raised a knife, grinning as his victim slid to the ground. As he bled out, he watched as the man before him sloughed off skin and transformed in the nastiest, most disgusting way ever. The vision stopped before the process was complete, but Cole had seen enough anyway and stepped back, muttering, "Oh this is all kinds of messed up."
Putting it lightly there, MacGrath, he thought to himself. Considering how to follow this up. There'd be a charge left in the air, an echo to follow this thing. If it was alive and had neurons firing in it, then it could be tracked. That was as good as anything right now. But just what exactly, was he going to be tracking here?
