Who: Jude and OPEN When: First day of school! Woo Hoo. First thing in the morning. What: Jude arrives at the school, gets his schedule, and is given a student guide to show him around (any takers?) Rating: PG-ish, I'm sure. Nothing too naughty for the first day.
The sleek black car pulled into the student parking lot with a roar. The fully restored 1969 Aston Martin was dark and powerful, much like the driver behind it's wheel. Not that there seemed to be anything, at first glance, to set Jude Halter apart from the other students arriving that day. You wouldn't see the fluidity of his movements as he stepped out of the car, or notice from far away the striking amber of his eyes. All you would see was a boy with mussed brown hair in blue jeans and a dark gray t-shirt. Nothing special about him, and yet, he was nothing like anyone else ever seen at Keaton. He walked across the lot to the double doors of the school, a smirk tilting the edges of his lips at the stares and occasional whispers his presence elicited from the others just arriving. Small towns and their reactions to shiny new things... he'd done this before. It was always the same, but faintly amusing nonetheless.
Jude pushed through the doors and into the hall. He had a thin notebook with a pen tucked into the spiral, and it dangled absently from his long fingers as he made his way to the office. He spoke briefly with a secretary who'd already spoken to his "parents" on the phone and had received the forged transcripts faxed over that morning. She gave him his schedule, and told him to have a good first day before handing him off to the student called in to show him around. He knew the drill, it was the same routine in any small town high school. To his guide he offered a dazzling smile, all white teeth flashing in fluorescent lights. "Hey." He greeted smoothly, a cat to a mouse, "I'm Jude." He offered up his name, though they probably already knew it, holding out his free hand to shake. Once it had been released, he opened the door to the hall, holding it for the other. "Guess it's time for class. You lead and I shall follow." He said, waiting for them to do just that.
