She recognized the various expressions playing across Tim's face and entire body. Even as one line of question was being closed off, his mind was already working on another one. And it seemed he was working on an important one. He had a pretty good idea what he was going to ask just before he asked it, and she wasn't disappointed.
Her brows wrinkled as she replayed the scene in her head. If she weren't so tired, she imagined she would be able to recall the details better. But even in her sleep-deprived state, body language was her territory. So she focused on that. "Martial arts? Hard to tell. Was not speaking martial arts. Not then. Was speaking 'run away. From trouble. Must not get catch. Caught'."
Abruptly, she smirked. "Like you, right now. Don't want to ... get caught. Looking." There was a knowing expression in her eyes. The playful kind that said, I caught you staring. And you liked what you saw.
