Shocking revelation
Who: Tim Drake NPCs: N/A Where: The Bat Cave When: October 8th, 2012 What: Tim analyzes Orhan's blood, and could not possibly be more shocked by the result. Rating: PG
It should not have taken this long for him to properly analyze the blood he picked up from Orhan, but his was not an ordinary circumstance. For one thing, he had to obtain the sample from his glove. And in doing so, he had to separate and isolate it fro his own blood. From there he had to test the sample, and run it through the extensive database that the computer in the Batcave had access to, all while healing from the injuries he had incurred in the fight and dealing with day to day crime in Gotham. Which was to say nothing of his developing relationship with Cassie, whom he felt he already had too little time for, though he hoped to amend that. Especially after the other night.
Leaning back in his chair while final matches were coming in, Tim lazily thought of her as he awaited the final result. When he had first met her, he had been intimidated by her. And then in awe of her. In many ways he still was. But lately, and especially the closer they became, he was beginning to realize that beneath the hardcore warrior exterior, she had a much softer, tender side. And he was enjoying getting to know that side of her each time they met up. With those thoughts in mind he was in the process of reaching to his phone to give her a call, when the computer gave a beep that indicated it had found a direct match, and all Tim could think was, "Finally. A real lead."
But relief turned to shock as he turned in his chair to see a large image of none other than Bruce Wayne looking down at him, beside a reading that matched the DNA with his own. Unconsciously, he dropped the phone.
"That... that's not possible... that.. that can't be..."
He rose from his chair, stared at the screen, and double checked the results. And then not satisfied, he ran the whole test again, only to come back to the same result.
"...This... could not possibly be worse."
Looking closer, Tim realized that it was not a one hundred percent match, but that was just as troubling. As he tried to absorb what that could mean, he hastily reached for his communicator.
