She nodded and disappeared into the shadows. In short order she canvassed the area, looking for anything that might be out of place. This was easier thought of than done in a neighborhood like the Narrows, which was rather decayed and trashed-out at the best of times. Signs of a struggle or a fight wouldn't exactly stand out very much.
Even so, between the two of them they quickly noticed some details that were rather fresh. Like some blood spatters where Robin was looking. And Batgirl found more blood further out, mixed in with a thin line of rubber leading away from the scene. Someone had been beaten up and dragged from the parking lot, leaving a trail of blood and sneaker rubber in his wake.
Following the trail, Batgirl stayed in touch with Red Robin through her cowl's communicator. "Trail gets ... fainter," she reported. "But ... victim still bleeding." In fact, at a couple of points during the trail, she found some larger splashes of blood. The victim had been beaten a couple more times along the way. Or he was coughing up blood.
Either way, it kept the trail from getting cold. "At the Reserv ... Reservoir." She'd always had difficulty pronouncing that word. She found spent shell casings at the bank of the reservoir, along with a copious pool of blood nearby. A body -- wearing a Street Demonz jacket -- was floating in the water. "Found him. In the water. Dead."
Reeling the body in with her grappling line, she hauled it onto the bank and examined it. "Stabbed. With a sword." There was no mistaking the deep, narrow wound. She pulled back his jacket sleeve to look for a certain tattoo on his arm. "It's Big K."
