There were so many Street Demonz in Gotham, and Batgirl had met every single one. They usually confined themselves to their turf in Midtown, making them fairly easy to find. But they'd been attempting to branch out into other areas, partly because it was what gangs did, and partly because an Asian woman who had been teaching self-defense in their territory happened to be the same woman who had first come to their attention by beating the crap out of them when they'd invaded the Park Row Clinic & Community Center.
In other words, people were becoming less and less afraid of the Street Demonz. Batgirl entertained the idea that if they ever found out she and that Asian woman were the same person, the Demonz would evacuate Park Row for safer pastures. Either that, or the Clinic would be the target of as many drive-bys as necessary to remove Cassandra -- and Batgirl -- from the picture. Because both outcomes were equally likely, Cassandra was ordered to keep a lid on her secret identity.
But some of them did venture outside their turf. One of them, she'd been informed, was Christopher King, better known as Big K. He was at the scene of Bruce Wayne's murder, and he was either the witness or the actual killer. Batgirl need to find him, and find out which he was. He had a tattoo of his girlfriend Suzie Li on his right bicep, and while Batgirl had trouble reading, she had seen a sketch of what the tattoo looked like. That would have to do for now.
She was just outside Demonz territory when she spotted a rumble taking place in a parking lot outside a bar. One of the participants was wearing a Demonz jacket; the other three were members of the local gang, clearly upset by the Demon's mere presence. They were at the angry posturing, displaying of weapons, and shoving stage of a fight. The bouncer was trying to break it up, but to no avail, and it looked like a six male was approaching the scene, looking to intervene. This one moved as if he'd had military training. He was compact but powerfully built.
