Who: Luna Lovegood and Open
Where: Diagon Alley
When: Sunday Morning
What: Taking in the sights
It had been a while since Luna had stood in the center of Diagon Alley. The morning crowd bustled around her on their way to get breakfast, or tea, or to shop before the rush truly started, and Luna let the crowd overtake her. Last time she’d been in England, she had not the freedom to stand so openly in such a public place. It was a thing she’d taken for granted before, and was somehow exhilarating to her now. The cold wind blew her hair around, and she laughed, the smell of hot chocolates and pastries filling the air as shops opened up around her.
She missed this. The weather, the streets, the shops, the people. The decision to stay in America and complete her training hadn’t been an easy one. Once the news had hit her that she’d been pardoned and could return home, she’d almost pounced on it immediately. But Hermione’s recovery was making leaps and bounds, removing her from the healers that had been working with her might have caused a setback, and Luna was not one to abandon a friend, not one who relied on her as much as Hermione had these past few months. She didn’t regret it, though she wished she could find a way to bring her father, and Rolf, and all the best parts about home with her.
It was specifically why she’d returned. She didn’t have much time, only a day or two, to gather things from home that she’d need while she was in America. Her research books, and a few things from home were at the top of her list, as well as a large supply of Honeydukes, and her favorite blanket from her bed at home. .Creature comforts, now that she could afford to carry them with her instead of just carrying what she could pack while fleeing. It was in her thoughts, that she wasn’t paying attention, bumping into a person rather had, almost losing her footing entirely.
“I’m very sorry, I would say it was the nargles, but I was daydreaming.” Luna smiled.
