Mia smiled, complying to her friend's request and awkwardly re-positioning herself from the chair to the sofa next to Susan. Merlin, she was almost jealous her friend wasn't pregnant anymore. She felt like a swollen whale, and she still had 9 weeks to go. If she carried to full term, anyway.
Carefully taking the small baby in her arms, Mia looked down on her with almost as much love and affection as she would her own child. It shone on her face brightly as she took in her tiny nose, her full lips, and her bright hair. She was so, so beautiful...
But Susan's words surprised her, Mia's eyes going wide at such an absolute honor. "Of course I'll agree! How could I not say yes to being part of the life of someone so perfect?" she asked, gently caressing Ronnie's face with her finger, the baby reaching up to grab her finger and holding it close. Such a simple gesture, and yet, Mia's heart was melted.
"You're sure?" she couldn't help but ask, looking up at her friend.
