So I'll hit the pavement it's gotta be better than waiting and pushing you far away cause I'm scared. So I'll take my chances and head on my way up there.
Saturday afternoon was spent sitting on her bed with a shoebox open on the duvet. A stack of unopened letters sat inside and, one after the other, Susan opened them and slowly read each line of Seamus' thoughts.. The first few had been the hardest to read, filled with apologies and confessions of feelings. They'd been sent not long after he left, when Susan still hated him, when she still felt betrayed and abandoned. As the letters went on, however, the tone changed. They spoke of the places he visited, the sights he saw.
Then... well. Susan read one letter three times. Dean. She wasn't sure why it bothered her so much. After all, she was pregnant and involved. But, still, it stung. Susan forced herself to finish every letter before she carefully tied them together with a bit of string and tucked them back into the box, nestled next to some trinkets and other mementos she couldn't let go of.
The next day, Susan plucked her favorite dress from her closet and dressed with care. Her braids were pulled back away from her face and she didn't bother with a speck of makeup. Making sure Ron and Draco knew where she was going, she set off for a quiet spot to apparate from. It took her a bit of time, but she ended up in Clifden and made her way to the bar Seamus had suggested.
Stepping inside, Susan nervously looked about before spotting a familiar head of hair. She approached him and sat down at the table, setting her leather bag at her feet. "Hi," she said with a nervous smile. "Sorry I'm a bit late."
