RP: Katie Bell & Nora Flint Who: Katie Bell & Nora Flint What: Rain, Emotional Devastation Where: Diagon Alley When: Late Afternoon/Early Evening, Saturday 11th November Rating: Low Status: Complete
Ever since Katie could remember she'd loved the rain. She loved being inside, all warm and cosy while it hammered against the windows, the thrill of being outside in fine weather when a sudden unexpected downpour had everybody rushing about like headless chickens to avoid getting drenched. Katie even loved being out in the rain. She could remember back to her chasing days, of flying her broom on soggy mornings when visibility had still been clear and Oliver had been too stubborn to cancel Quidditch practice.
She did realise she likely looked odd right then, her bright pink work robes sodden and her blonde hair dark and flattened against her head as she stood with her face to the darkened sky. However, Diagon was quiet and the last of the day's shoppers were mostly hurrying about with umbrella charms and concentrating more on where they were going that of a brightly dressed witch standing against the already colourful and recently renovated Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
Not just that but Katie didn't much care. It was cool outside but not cold, and after a full days work and the stress of wondering how most of her friends were coping after falling ill with what appeared to be a particularly vicious strain of Dragon Pox, and the feel of the rain against her warm skin had the most extraordinary effect. Katie didn't even recognise it for what it was at first, didn't realise how much she'd relaxed or that she was almost crying with relief at being able to just feel and not think for a change.
