Who: Simon McLaggen and Justin Finch-Fletchley
What: Connecting in the aftermath of Chaos
When: Monday, mid-day
Where: Obscurus Books
Rating: PG-I'm sure. It's Simon.
Early Monday afternoons were typically a slow period of time for the shops on Diagon Alley. Most of the time it was slow because people were working and the people there weren't really in a hurry. Either they were off work for the day, they were stay at home spouses, they were avoiding responsibilities, or meeting up with friends. In Simon's case, he didn't work on Monday, and he was meeting someone who he had been friendly with in school.
While Justin hadn't been a very close friend, they were housemates, and they understood each other in a lot of ways. Both muggleborn Hufflepuffs, they felt the chaos in ways that others didn't. And the grisly murder of Hagrid published in the paper and broadcast by Ron Weasley had disturbed him in a lot of ways.
To be frank, Simon was scared. The way the world was moving scared him. He didn't know what would happen next, or who would up and vanish. He didn't know who had sided with Malfoy, but the familiar faces he hadn't seen since Thursday concerned him in a lot of ways. Simon was ready to get back to normal; get back on the pitch with the team and help organize them and get them ready for their next game. This waiting was nerve wracking for him.
Mishka walked comfortably beside Simon. He was thankful for the presence of his service dog. Mishka had alerted a little over a week ago, and Simon was able to ride out his latest seizure with far more comfort than he had previously. Of course, it wasn't easy, but it was better having a buddy to help him even when he was on his own.
The bell over Justin's shop door tinkled as Simon entered. He held the door for Mish, and the dog followed him inside. He didn't go too far into the shop, because he didn't want to knock any of the displays over, or have Mishka feel blocked in by too many things. He stepped up closer to the counter so he was out of the way while he waited for Justin.
