Who: Roger and Fleur
Where: A cafe in Diagon Alley
When: BACKDATED, to Sunday afternoon
What: A chance meeting
Rating: Likely low.
Even though he wasn't in his office at the Ministry, Roger was still working when he penned his desire to get outdoors. Eventually, he shook his head at himself and threw his quill down on the desk. Enough was enough. Yes, he was determined to climb the Ministry's professional ladder and do it quickly, but not at the cost of everything else. So, he'd asked Cho about tickets to Cormac's next match, then decided to go for a walk. He'd kill two birds with one stone and pop up to Diagon Alley for dinner while he was out.
Shopping was first; Roger had several items sent home via parcel post. He wandered into stores that he didn't actually need anything from. It was just nice to be away from work.
The sun was beginning its descent by the time he reached the cafe near Gringotts. There was a crowd. Roger frowned. With so many people out to enjoy the fine weather, it wasn't likely he'd get a table outside. Then he spotted a familiar face. She'd changed some, of course, over the years since Roger had last seen her, but Fleur wasn't someone he was inclined to forget. He'd rather embarrassed himself during the Yule Ball, though she hadn't seemed to mind at the time. A smile stole over his face as he wound his way through the tables.
Roger nearly choked on the number of truly mortifying things his brain came up with as a greeting. Clearly, the effect she could have hadn't lessened any. He cleared his throat.
"Well, hello. I wondered when we might run into one another."
