Who: George Wealsey, Ron Weasley, Remus Lupin & Penelope Clearwater What: George wants to talk to them about his meeting with the Minister Where: Penny’s flat When: Monday afternoon
George had been mulling over the Ministers words for some time now. It had been a bold move for him to go there, by himself, without much of a back up plan but he was glad he did. The information he’d gleaned for the older man had been invaluable, not just to him as the brother of the man's fiancee, but as a rebel as well. George had been doing his best to get his thoughts around the whole thing before bringing it before the leaders.
The people before him were those he knew for a long time, his former teacher and fellow Potterwatch host, his younger brother, and his girlfriend. Precisely why he thought hoped that they would heed his advice on this matter. He’d met the man that many of them had considered the enemy, and most surprisingly, he found that he really did trust him. He spoke honestly, and hadn’t tried anything shady though George had basically been at his mercy.
He’d set up the dining room table in Penny’s flat to serve as a makeshift meeting place for them, since Remus and Ron had offered to come up to him for this. He sat facing the entryway. It wasn’t often that George wore such a serious look on his face, which should have been enough to tell them how important this was to him. George waited, somewhat impatiently, for everyone to arrive and get settled before he started, seeing no reason to waste any time.
“I’m uh, glad you guys came.” He said, a twitch of a playful smile on his lips before he continued. “Some of you know that I’ve been in a lot of contact with my sister, and recently I went to meet with the Minister.” He paused then, for their reactions before he continued through.
“He gave me a lot of important information, including what Lucius’ plans are, and even that he’s currently wielding the Elder wand… and it’s so much of a threat that apparently even Rabastan himself is concerned about what the man will do on his hunt for the Hallows. He seems to think that not placating the man will cause a lot of problems for the entire wizarding world.” George leaned back in his chair, considering what he wanted to say next.
“The Minister has offered help… it might not be the help we want, but it’s better than nothing. He’s offered to pass information and to do what he can to assist the rebels short of coming out against Lucius. He seems to think that if Lucius knows that Rabastan has his doubts about everything, than Lucius will become even more of a threat. The only thing that seems to be keeping Malfoy in line is the Minister, and the fact that he’s appeasing him somehow.”
“I want to start out by saying I trust the man. I was alone in his house, and he did nothing to me. Allowed me to leave on my own free will and gave me this information on his friend, so.” George shrugged and gestured to the people before him, “Honestly, we need all we can get, especially from him.”
