Who: Roger Davies and OPEN Where: The Ministry cafeteria When: Monday, 2-ish (yes, I'm posting this early) What: Anything goes! Rating: TBD
People-watching was never something he'd gotten into; therefore, Roger was staring off into the middle distance, contemplating how best to accommodate the MACUSA President when she arrived in a week. It wasn't his job, but somehow he'd been handed the responsibility anyway. The two countries seemed to always have very different views on the way to deal with muggles and their interactions with the wizarding world. He supposed it came from their governments having divided along with everything else in the 1770s. Still, with everything that was going on, it wasn't the best time for a political visit. Hopefully the rebels wouldn't be foolish enough to try something with so important a dignitary in country. He knew so many of them from school it was hard to imagine they were guilty of some of the things the Ministry claimed. It was doing such good work most of the time.
There was food in front of him - all healthy, a salad and a small plate of protein - untouched. His mind was too busy. He generally ate a good breakfast, at least, which got him through those days during which he didn't have anything else until nearly bedtime. Roger occasionally wished he had a Time Turner. It would've made his life easier. He managed to find time to exercise and attend important functions and accomplish those tasks required by his job. Unfortunately, his non-professional (read: outside the Ministry) social life had suffered, as had his sleep. He hadn't been to a Quidditch match in two years that he'd actually been able to sit back and enjoy.
Usually, it was easy to reason it all away; the end goal was well worth the sacrifice. Other days, he longed to feel the wind in his face again, zipping through the air with the Quaffle tucked under his arm. He missed the thrill that accompanied the roar of a crowd below him, celebrating a Ravenclaw score. So lost was he in his wandering thoughts that he didn't immediately notice someone approaching.
