Although Angelina was still extremely uneasy about how Katie had managed to come up with a large sum of money- and absolutely, one hundred percent never believed that she had scored it on a scratch off and wanted to bloody murder her for trying something so wreckless- she had to admit that the perks of all that cash were absolutely brilliant. Her mattress- though nothing fancy- felt like a bloody cloud after where they'd been staying for the last several months. Their hot water was always hot. She couldn't hear the neighbors having sex! She had, though she'd never admitted it, teared up a little when she'd realized exactly how much better things had gotten.
But, of course, not everything was rainbows and sunshine. Things between Katie and Oliver had blown up in a big way, and Katie had been so moody that Angelina had made a concerted effort to give her some space and ensure the kitchen was well stocked with wine and baked goods. She had left Katie a plate of dinner with a heart on a sticky note, and headed to bed without pestering her.
For all her good thought, distance was clearly not what Katie was looking for.
Angelina didn't even notice the other girl at first, but when she lazily rolled over in her sheets, her leg tapped something warm and distinctly leg-like. Brown eyes popped open in surprise to see her friend's face next to her own, and she let out a soft sigh of relief. She had done this before many a time, but Angelina was still a little surprised to see her there after she'd been the one to break the bad news to her. "Oi." She gave her leg another gentle nudge with her own. "Rise and shine, starshine. We slept in."
