Who: Amelia Higgs and Katie Bell What: Advice! And cheesecake! Where: The lightship When: August 10th? Or backdated. Whatever. Warnings/Rating: Low? None?
Mia had been trying her best just to get through each day without the urge to run back home to Terence. But it was too dangerous, and she well knew that. Especially now, after Ivy had joined up with the rebels. Emy and Terence were probably under even more observation than before, making any sort of moments together that much more impossible. She tried to keep it together, if not only for herself, but the people around her who she cared deeply for. No one would benefit if Amelia let herself be a crying wreck, but that didn't stop her from maybe losing it a bit when she was alone. Thankfully, it seemed, most were more interested in the warehouse and the forest safehouse than the boat. Not that she would ever, ever turn anyone away. But the bit of privacy here and there was nice.
When Katie reached out to her, Mia was a bit surprised, but she was happy to see the other girl was feeling a bit more herself. That she was reaching out, and Mia would never turn someone away. Even without the promise of cheesecake, she would have invited Katie over in a heartbeat.
So after giving her the address of the dock the boat was currently at, Mia moved closer to the door so she would hear when the other woman arrived. The lightship itself was beginning to look more comfortable. The layer of grime was removed, the large, open space that had currently been a bunk room had several beds. The kitchen was cleaned, and she had even went as far as to put in a new icebox and stove. The bathroom was still all the original pieces, but the large, basin bathtub had a new shine. It was almost comfortable, and she hoped the slight sway of the water wasn't something that would bother a potential guest. It had truly never bothered Mia, though the upside of living on a boat meant she could pass off the morning sickness as motion sickness. Just a little plus...
Once she heard someone knocking on the large door at the side of the hull, Mia peeked through, recognizing the other woman and pulling it open. It was a bit of a hop up, and she waited patiently until the other girl was inside to seal it back up.
"It's lovely to see you, Katie," she said sincerely, a bright smile on her face.
