Daniel quirked up an eyebrow and grinned. "He has been doing well. A fast learner I see."
Setting the basket down at his side, he kneeled and took the offered paw, giving it a shake before rewarding the pup with a scratch behind the ears. Then he stood and offered Lilith his hand. "Off we go," he said, giving her a grin. He seemed to be doing a lot more of that these days, smiling. He wasn't used to it, but he liked it.
