Who: Callista Shafiq and Open. What: Enjoying freedoms Where: The Golden Dragon, Diagon. When: Thursday, late-afternoon
Callista was surprisingly good at keeping a cool head, despite the things that had happened in the last few weeks. She took advantage of the fact that Lucius and his upper staff were distracted by their revenge for the prisoner’s outbreak, and carrying out their plot on the hospital, to extract herself from Tinsworth. She had already been safely secured in her Ministry appointed safe flat when Mrs. Roper made the announcement that she’d willfully separated from them.
After that, Callista waited.
She waited for someone to find her. To kick down the door and kill her. She waited for a sign of what she was supposed to do. She just waited. It was a few weeks before she felt safe enough to venture out, and even then, she’d made poor choices, like meeting Sienna at a hotel. Perhaps she should have been more skeptical, but anything, even death, seemed more rewarding than sitting in that flat by herself. She was starting to go crazy she was certain.
Callista discovered the Golden Dragon by accident, walking through the alleyway with a hoodie to cover her appearance. It was a nice little Chinese restaurant, one that she remembered Cho talking about once. The place was mostly empty, and Callista got a few different small plates, sampling them as she read. It was just nice to be out of the apartment for a little while.
