Who: Verity Gallagher and George Weasley
What: Just another day in WWW
Where: Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes—Diagon.
When: Thursday Afternoon.
It was days like this that made it hard to have the twins in the shop with him, Anna was constantly trying to crawl all over everyone, while Flynn seemed content to throw everything everywhere. It had taken much longer than usual to get the twins down for their nap, in part because they slept in a transfigured cart in the backroom, and the store was actually rather busy. George had had a rather clever idea to have a flash sale for Friday the 13th pranks, and the idea seemed to light the imaginations of those in the alley. He was lucky though, that he’d got Verity for the day, there was no one else he trusted to watch the shop while he tended to the babies.
With the children secured, George stepped out into the shop, a spell of his own creation allowed an alarm to sound in his prosthetic ear if the children roused. There were people everywhere, but a particular family caught his eye. It was a trio of children, with a grandmother who seemed clearly out of her depth with the hyperactive youngsters. He had been stepping over to greet them, when he’d heard a startled shriek three aisles over. Pulling his wand, he moved to see a young woman snatching her toddler off the floor as a wave of green-ish sludge seeped from under the shelving. George knew what it was instantly, he could recognize his own creation without a second guess, but he understood her surprise.
A spell on his lips, he froze the spreading of the portable swamp, but in order to remove it, he’d have to find the source. “Sorry ‘bout that Ma’am.” He said, stepping over to her, and with another quick spell cleaning her shoes. “that’s just a portable swamp, I promise, it’ll cause no harm short of a bit of water damage.” He gave her an easy going grin.
“Verity?!” He called out, stepping away from the customer who was moving away from the mess, “Verity, do you know anything about this?” He asked, trying to find his friend in the slight chaos.
