Cassius laughed, and then groaned as the movement shook his head and made the pain flare back up again. He gave her a small smile to let her know he was okay. "Don't make me laugh..." he whined slightly. It really did hurt; his skull had been fractured in several locations and spell damage made the recovery that much more difficult.
"I'd say I'd just go about as you for a while, but I don't know how much of an improvement that would be." He smirked up at her; it was absolutely a lie, and Cass knew that she knew how beautiful he thought she was. He closed his eyes as he leaned into her touch.
He had missed her so much in the weeks they'd been apart and hadn't had a chance to see one another. She had her life and work and family, and Cassius had been involved with much here on this side of the wards. Cassius didn't dream of perfect worlds often, but one thing he did wish was that living here hadn't caused such separation. They did their best to stay as close as they could, but it was definitely easier when there weren't guards tracking who came and went.
"I thought I was going to die." Cassius said softly. It wasn't like Cassius to openly admit to things under normal circumstances. When he had something to say he spoke around it, and implied things more than admitted them. "I thought I was going to die, and the biggest thing I regretted was not seeing you and Gray one more time."
