Who: Nora and Cassius What: Visiting and freaking out Where: Malfoy Manor When: Backdated to Sunday Rating: Low? Mentions of injuries and stuff though
Nora wasn't heartless, she was just incredibly apathetic to all things in the world that didn't directly involve herself, her son, or her boyfriend. She supposed there were a few more people scattered in there. Sophie for one. And of course, Cassius Warrington. Their friendship had spanned nearly twenty years at this point, ever since their first run in during school. He had been one of the few people who wasn't afraid of her, and she had been one of the few people who managed to hold his attention. And while they weren't together like that, it didn't discount the feelings she had towards him. Cassius was her absolute best friend in the entire world. The godfather to her son, her confidant when there was no one she felt she could talk too. Not that it happened often, Alec was a pretty open person, but regardless, their relationship meant something. If anything ever happened to him, she didn't know what she would do.
So when she heard he had been hurt, and not just hurt, but seriously hurt in the attack on Mungo's, Nora automatically panicked. The idea of never seeing him again, never poking fun at him or sharing old times. Never talking to him about her son, or her life. Never telling him about everything going on just so he could raise his eyebrows at her in a judging, but familiar and comforting manner... It was too much. Nora could handle a lot of things in life, she had handled a lot of things - An abusive, rapist husband. A blackmailing and emotionally manipulative brother in law, who somehow managed to change himself at the end, causing her to fall in love with him, just in time for her husband to kill him, and die himself. Losing a baby for a second time, falling in love again so soon after, or at the same time, as experiencing such pain. It hadn't been an easy road, but she had made it here, and she knew part of that reason was her best friend. So she'd be fucking damned if he left her now.
She arrived outside Tinworth and was greeted by the familiar face of her uncle who let her in without question. He led her to the Manor of Lucius Malfoy. And while others might have been nervous to enter such a place, it was honestly the last thing on Nora's mind. She had nothing to fear here, so why should she? He was a man. A powerful one, but she had done nothing to piss him off, so why would she worry.
Soon she was led to his room. Nora couldn't help the small cry that escaped her lips as she made her way closer, asking Sebastian to give her some time as she went to sit by Cass' side, letting her small hand snake forward to take his own fingers gently between hers.
"Hey... I'm here," she said quietly, unsure if he was conscious or not. If he wasn't, she would wait. For as long as it took, just so she could see him alive and well for herself.
