Who: Remus, Kirley, and Mel What: Sexual healing Where: Kirley’s flat When: Late Wednesday night Rating: High
The full moon was only three days away, and Remus had been feeling its pull all week. Over the years, he had learned to deal with the changes that occurred when the moon was waxing. As a small child, it would cause severe anxiety each month. Then as a teenager and young man, his hormones would translate that anxiety into a major spike in his sex drive. In the past, he'd ignore those urges whenever possible, only giving in rarely with a stranger or in the few times in his life that he'd been with someone. He tried to push the wolf down, but ever since Tinworth, he felt disconnected from his body and constantly on edge. The wolf felt closer to the surface, and worse, it was needier. While the thought of intimacy terrified him these days, the wolf inside him was practically howling for physical contact.
Last month he just needed to be touched, and so he reached out to Mel. It hadn't gone much further than that, other than meeting up to cuddle again. He thought that would be enough to keep him from climbing up the walls, since the thought of doing anything more physical gave him anxiety. But after Mel's invitation, he found himself contacting a sitter for Teddy and flooing over to her flat to join in the party.
He was nervous. He hadn't had sex with anyone for half a year, not since Cho, and he hadn't been with another man for years before that. Not to mention that most people here were much younger than he was. And better looking. And likely not suffering from PTSD. And had left the house more than a handful of times. He shook his head to let go of all the doubts. He was here to enjoy himself, not take inventory of all his insecurities. Sticking to the edges of the party, he found the bar and helped himself to a whiskey. As he glanced around the room to unconsciously catalogue the location of all the exits, his eyes found Mel across the room and smiled. The simple presence of the other wolf calmed him down so that he let himself could enjoy the evening.
