Well that was a welcome response. No one else had understood her decision to kick Ron out. His family and her friends all thought she'd lost her mind, but Susan knew deep down she was right. Ron continued to choose other things over her. His job, his boyfriend, even their daughter. Susan felt as though she came fourth most days. Hell, it had taken being publicly shamed before he even bothered realizing there was a problem.
"You didn't fuck things up with me," she reassured him quickly. "I haven't stopped loving you, Draco, don't you know that?" Being away for as long as he had should've killed Susan's love for her ex-fiancee, but it hadn't. She had missed him too much, longed for him too often. "I didn't know that you were going to come back. I thought you were gone and I-- I thought I loved Ron." Maybe that's what it was, she realized. Maybe she was simply replacing her feelings for Draco by marrying Ron.
At his suggestion, Susan took Draco's hand and led him back towards the main house. He'd left before they all had a chance to move home and Susan was thrilled to show him the place she'd grown up. Bones Manor was old, filled with magic and history. And now he was home again, she told herself. Now Draco could come live with her and everything would be back to the way it should have been.
