Who: Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange (Open to Ginny Lestrange later). What: Rodolphus was found, and he’s in a bit of trouble. Where: DMLE then back to Rabastan’s house When: Mid-September, 2003 Rating: Language and mentions of violence?
Rodolphus hadn’t stepped foot in the Ministry in months, but it had been even longer since he’d been in the DMLE holding facility. He’d been found outside of the Tinsworth border—something he knew would happen after he dropped Cho off at a clinic, but was unavoidable, and he hadn’t put up a fight when the Hitwizards decided to take him in to the Ministry. They bound his arms and stripped him of his wand, and that’s how he was sitting when his brother was summoned.
The stretch of his arms behind his back was annoying him, he hadn’t shaved since leaving the manor (the camp just really hadn’t been set up with any sort of luxury), the mirror showed him an unkempt figure, a ghost of himself, a bulkier version of himself in Azkaban. He was a mess. He felt it. He breathed it. His break with reality had been sudden, and extreme. Even thinking about it, as calmly as he was now, he couldn’t think of how many Tinsworth residents he’d killed. What did it matter? They were housing a mad man, protecting the man who’d caused Andromeda to die.
It was more than that though, with Andromeda died all his potential. She was the good in him. They’d been trying for a child, and that was something that burned when he thought about it, that someone had let Bellatrix loose and destroyed any potential life he’d had with Andromeda. And what if she had gotten her hands on Henry? What would she have done, she was no mother and he doubted her intentions where good.
He’d only snapped up from his thoughts when the door closed and his brother strolled in. “Unbind me and take me to see my son.” Rodolphus said simply, looking at his younger brother. He knew Rabastan was here to bail him out.
