The windows of the empty store were frosted, hiding the interior but for the soft flicking glow of candlelight. Fred had left the door unlocked, assuming no one would be wandering around the village at night and, if they were, weren't likely to come barging into an empty shop. And it was empty. Well, empty of shop things at least. Fred had filled it with something else.
Every flat surface was covered in candles of varying shapes and sizes. The beams on the ceiling, the window ledges and the empty shop counter were slowly accumulating pools of dried wax. Light moved slowly in a hundred directions at once, making the room feel as if it had been sunk into a golden pool. The effect was exactly as Fred had envisioned.
In the middle of the floor, the Weasley twin sat on a thick blanket. Beside him was a picture-perfect picnic basket, brimming with pies and pastries and two bottles of something pink and sparkly he'd grabbed off the wine shelf at the store. Two wine glasses sat empty and ready, a strawberry already resting in the bottom of both.
He perked up at the sound of apparition outside and put on his best smile as the door hesitantly opened. Ivy's face, despite seeing it every day, never failed to make his stomach flutter in the best possible way. "Took you long enough," He said, his eyes twinkling.
