Who: Dean, Max and his band of Wandholders
What: Dean gets cornered
Where: Highgate Cemetary
When: Wednesday Evening
Warnings: potential violence.
It was a surreal moment. Dean had been standing around the casket with his family, listening vaguely as person after person spoke about his grandmother, about the sort of lady he was. He had been holding his younger brothers hand, the boy was six and barely knew Dean, to which Dean was trying to rectify by being at Jojo’s side the entire time he was visiting. He wasn’t sure what stuck out about them, the three of them that seemed to be meandering closer, except for the fact that they seemed to be watching him, which made him uneasy.
He passed his brothers hand to one of his sisters and leaned towards his mother, a bit frantic in his words as he told her that he needed to go now, and that he was so very sorry. He wouldn’t even have time to get back to the house to grab his things. He knew those people where here for him, and he couldn’t let himself get caught in front of his family, who knew what would happen to them if they did.
Slowly, Dean started to back away, to the murmer of family who didn’t understand, before he turned and ran back towards a tomb that he could hide behind. There was another muggle family within sight, so he couldn’t apparate, but maybe he could confuse them. First he had to tell Seamus that something was wrong, he’d promised, and the Wandholders had been far enough away, hadn’t they?
It was a simple message. Something that he could scrawl out quick, and he couldn’t even ward it, he couldn’t risk pulling out his wand. As one of the wandholders came around the corner, Dean was stuffing his journal back into his inner suit pocket, and pulling his wand back into his sleeve, just in case.
“Don’t you think this is ridiculously inappropriate?”
