It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie, The moment to live and the moment to die, The moment to fight, the moment to fight To fight, to fight,
There was a blanket of snow in Hogsmeade. Emmeline was trailing behind a tall man, cloaked and striding through the village. He didn't see her, or at least Emmeline thought he didn't. Her wand was clutched in her fist. This was the man who ruined her life. He'd taken everything she loved and killed it. He was the reason she was alone. Her family was buried in Devon and she'd hadn't even been to visit them in years. All because of this man. This horrible, hateful and evil man.
Her rage had boiled over. Emmeline lifted her wand and fired off a hex, but Dolohov knew she was there. He spun on her quickly, blocking her hex and smiling at her. "I was wondering when you'd come out of hiding, Vance. I always regretted I never completed the set." Emmeline should've left then, she knew that. But her desire for revenge was so overwhelming that she couldn't force herself to flee. He needed to pay. She needed her revenge.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," she fired back at him and set a hex his way, quickly followed by a charm to blow the snow up in his face, distorting his view. She didn't have to wait long for his response. Emmeline didn't see his wand move. All she felt was incredible pain. Every bone in her body felt as though it had broken at once and she crumpled to the ground. Emmeline screamed out in pain and tears began streaming down her face. Determined to end the Vance family, Dolohov advanced on her, standing over her and smirking. "I'll be sure your Order friends find you," he sneered.
Another spell hit her and Emmeline felt her skin split open. The snow around her turned red and she twisted and curled away to protect herself. Her screams rang through Hogsmeade, but the village was too familiar with the screams of witches and wizards to help her. Emmeline realized she was going to die. She was going to die in the streets of Hogsmeade. No one knew where she'd gone. She hadn't told Grant or Bill. Her pride was going to be the death of her.
One spell after another hit her body and Emmeline fought to cling to life. All she could picture was Grant and how she'd never see him again. She couldn't die here. He'd never forgive her. "No," she moaned as she bled out slowly on the snowy ground. "Not here." With her last bit of strength, Emmeline clutched her wand and focused on the Longbottom House. She needed to live. She couldn't let this man end her family. It took her last bit of strength and Emmeline apparated inside the clinic, crying out in pain as she thumped against floor. "Help," she cried out and then everything went black.
