Dear sir or madame,
Some time back I exchanged correspondence with Dolores Umbridge, Under Secretary to the Minister of Magic and Head of the Committee on the Control of Wizarding Society, as to the placement of a particular prisoner (Ms. Charlotte Montgomery) in my possession when I am assigned a servant. I did apply for ownership of a Reformed Prisoner nearly two months ago (on 9th October, 2002) and was awarded care of one I felt would be an inappropriate placement because of an extensive and negative personal history that would colour my treatment of him and his response to me. Soon after, I requested a different individual specifically that I'd erroneously believed was likely ready for release (Ms. Charlotte Montgomery) -- I'd had some contact with her and remembered her as a student, and I was aware she was in prison at the point so I suggested her as a more compatible candidate. While I do not contest that her continued placement there is just, I had received the comment that I could re-apply at a later date, and have recently become a bit puzzled over the precise meaning of that statement.
My question is regarding whether or not I must re-apply for ownership of a Reformed Prisoner or whether my original application is still in the queue/file for the same purpose. Do I need to re-apply in order to be assigned a second individual (and is there somewhere that I should clarify that I am still requesting Ms. Charlotte Montgomery?), or is my original application still valid?
Thank you in advance for a prompt response, as I'm sure you're terribly busy,
Headmaster Severus Alexander Snape
