Weeks of carefully laid plots and schemes had finally culminated in this. Bellatrix was not a patient woman, nor was she prone to such intricate schemes. As far as she was concerned, the honourable and respectable thing to do would have been to have both sides simply meet at the appointed time and place to fight. It was an antiquated style of warfare, yet still one that appealed to her oddly traditionalist mind. But the Order had proven their refusal to adhere to the more traditional rules of war (never mind that Bellatrix had not exactly done so herself - the "rules" as they were did not apply to her.) And so, an ambush. If the Order would not face them on their own terms, the Death Eaters would simply draw them out with the promise of poor, dead innocents.
Bellatrix had positioned herself at the edge of the forest so she could keep a clear view of both the grassy clearing and the small, empty house where their "resistance group" was supposed to be meeting. She was not bothering to conceal her presence to anyone who happened to look over in her direction - not even a mask upon her face - as she stood with one arm outstretched, hand pressed against a nearby tree with her nails digging into the bark. Her other hand was clenched tightly around her wand, her entire body rigid with anticipation as she waited for the battle to begin.
There. Just as the silence that filled the clearing was becoming deafening, Bellatrix spotted two figures ambling casually towards where Danielle and Rabastan were waiting with the children selected to play decoy. The first of the Muggles they had imperiused were arriving, finding their way to this place without a care in the world. Another two appeared behind them and a smile spread across Bellatrix's face. It was time. The quiet evening was suddenly disrupted by the sharp crack of apparition all around her as the actual wizards among her imperiused "bait" dutifully arrived, followed quickly by the foolish Order members walking straight into their trap.
She did not stop to see just how many of them had decided to arrive - there would be time to count the bodies once they were done - and instead she trained her wand on the wizard who had apparated in closest to her, firing off a quick blasting hex at his back.
