Great story! I enjoyed reading about Harry and Severus’ trips and excursions. It was good to see them doing ordinary things together, like going to the movies or shopping. And I loved the descriptions of the magical places they visited, the inventive details, the Snapes and especially the romantic scene at Bloodeagle’s.
The romance and its developments were so much fun to follow. It really showed that they enjoyed each other’s company. I loved their conversations in particular - both the playful ones and the more serious. And the adorable bits, like Harry’s almost Shakespearian comment on Severus‘ charms: “Your, um, charms. You shouldn’t put yourself down. OK, so your hair isn’t your best feature, and your, er, nose is a bit big for your face, and you’re way too thin, but, well, you still look, um. Very you.”
I liked your portrayal of Ron and Hermione a lot. Lucius’ appearances were ominous and the way James and Sirius behaved made them look like a pair of decidedly unglamorous middle-aged men. Harry’s relationship with his father was wonderfully mundane, and the conflicts between them felt very realistic. For a while there, I was worried that James would succeed in poisoning Harry’s mind against Severus, but they needed to deal with the Death Eater issue anyway. And the thing about revenge would have come up sooner or later. That they managed to solve these issues made the ending very satisfying indeed.
