There really wasn't any reason to be either anti-Ginny or anti-Lily for that matter. I took something JKR said in an interview, actually, about Ginny going to play professional Quidditch and Harry becoming an Auror (plus the fact that it takes 19 years before their kids go to Hogwarts), to mean that there were 6-7 years after the war where their lives went in separate directions. So I didn't have to have a big 'breakup' or anything to have Harry single and ready to 'experiment' a bit. :)
hermione would have been a nice red herring if I had had time to set that up! But I didn't. Ah well!
