I’m a bit surprised that I finished this story, to be honest. I almost stopped reading twice because of the unexpected (to me) physical violence, and I was a bit confused that Harry didn’t know about Snape’s role in the war, when everything else (except Ginny’s death) was more or less as in canon.
It must be the excellent writing and the need to see some solution to their situation and to Harry’s problems that kept me reading. He really managed to scare me, the way his thoughts went in circles; it made his behaviour believable, but it was hard to read not knowing what his next reaction would be. And his self-pity was so unattractive. OTOH, he was at his best here:
“Do you want me to fuck you? Is that it?” Harry purred, fire flashing through his veins as images flooded his mind. “Like the feel of a cock up your arse, d’you?”
That whole scene was such a deliciously teasing, lovely, sexy thing in an otherwise serious story.
