Re: The very edible, unbeatable, Unspeakable Snape
Hee. These classic Snarry plots always put that picture in my mind. Snape, circling Harry craftily - not realizing (or just irritatedly ignoring) that it's Snape himself going in circles. Like a moth going round and round the lightbulb, batting its wings distractingly, that's Snape pretending not to be interested in Harry, even while his flutters and swoops - not to mention the peril he puts himself in - signal his demand that Harry dive in to rescue him.
You were really on a roll with this one! So many shiveringly delightful little details, all precision-cut with sparkling edges, all sizzling with emotion. It's not just your Snape and Harry, it's your writing, the scene, the plot, the details, the words! Like a richly staged opera buffa, even while the main plot waltzes along toward the expected and comfortable consummation, your subplots dance in and out with gleeful originality, and every twinkling detail teases the eye and fattens the appetite for more. Every sentence *zings* with excitement. So much Snarry goodness! Utterly, wickedly, sinfully, fatteningly delicious. (I could eat read this style all day.)
