Perverse Idyll!! Have I told you lately that your comments are the BEST I've ever ever seen?!? :D Did you guess it was me?? :D
Wow, I feel like you've captured the fic better than the fic itself! Ha ha, does that even make any sense? I mean--you've captured what I was trying to write--the exposure of feeling that comes with exhaustion, and the almost rape-like sensation of Snape's Legilimency. I wanted Harry to get run into the ground, repeatedly--but without the real darkness of non-consent, or physical violence. This fic was actually something I started scribbling waaay back, after seeing OotP and that scene where Snape is trying to teach Harry Occlumency. I really liked the way they did that scene, the way Alan Rickman looks when he urges Harry to "prove it!" when Harry protests he's not weak. I just liked how Snape felt like a teacher more than ever before--that the screenplay didn't portray him as malicious or ambiguously evil at best. Snape seems to want Harry to learn, and it's tough love, or being cruel to be kind, that we're seeing.
It was such a perfect scene--my favorite Harry/Snape scene from the films, to date. I felt it was very plausible for Snape's motivation in that scene to be something deep and secret, a kind of devotion that would never come to light--without Harry's insistence. I guess that's what fanfic is for, huh? :D
Thank you again so much for reading, and for this fantastic, truly fantastic, feedback. :) *massivehugs!!!*
