OFFICIAL CLOSING GAMES DRABBLES CONTEST for the 2007 WINTER GAMES

Definition of DRABBLE (according to the Fanfiction Glossary) is thus:
Set by the Birmingham University SF Society as: a self-contained vignette of exactly 100 words, no more, no less, with up to 15 more words are allowed for the title. Hyphenated words are in dispute. The term originates from a Monty Python skit: "Drabble. A word game for 2 to 4 players. The four players sit from left to right and the first person to write a novel wins." Drabbles started in British SF fandom in the late '80s. A half-drabble is fifty words long; a double drabble is 200 words long.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to submit to the Snarry Games a series of Drabbles using this years Prompts and Genres.

We will be accepting said Drabbles right up to May 15/07, and they will be posted in the Closing Games Ceremonies, a time which we allow the fans and judges to complete their reading, reviewing and voting process, once all of the Games entries have been posted.

You may drabble using the following settings: WARTIME or POSTWAR.

FAQs

1. How many Drabbles can I submit?

- As many as you like. There is no minimum or maximum. Have fun!

2. How do I format them?

- We would appreciate the following things to be a part of your submission:

  1. Overall Header including your penname/lj user name, and beta.

  2. Warnings and Ratings. You may preface each drabble, or do an overall one with the Header.

  3. Each Drabble must be be identified with Setting, Genre(s) and the PROMPT used.

  4. Formatted for lj, preferably. If you are not certain how, please just ask, we can help.

3. Do they need to be betaed (beta read)?

- We encourage all people submitting their drabbles to have them beta read. We have a mod who is willing to read any submissions to look for errors/typos if you are unable to find your own.

4. Is there a sign up post? Where do I send them once they are done?

- You need not sign up; you just need to want to play. This includes current Participants. We look forward to anyone who wishes to drabble, and find it exciting to wait and see who does! When you are finished, you need to email them in a .txt or .doc file to the mods at snarry [DOT] mod [AT] gmail [DOT] com, by May 15/07.

REMEMBER: Above all else, have fun!

Good luck!
