Ah, it makes me so sad to know the Games are ending forever. They started the year I entered Snarry fandom, and as long as I've been here, so have the Games, a defining experience of my fandom years and of me as a reader, writer, and fangirl. I first encountered most of my favorite authors through entries written for the Games; I wrote my first fanfic ever (and failed my first fest ever, woe!) because you gave me a chance. During the course of each Games, I was completely addicted and my days revolved around reading and viewing the competing works of fic and art. I lived and breathed this pairing whenever the Games were in session. You helped keep my passion for it alive.
It really does feel like the end of an era. Your departure will leave a huge hole in Snarry culture, as Ven calls it above. But beyond even my love for the amazing talent you inspired and fostered each year is my intense admiration for the scope of your achievement, your generosity and professionalism, and the extremely high quality you maintained for the fest. You attracted the best because you were the best.
Thank you for a truly exceptional community experience, and for the legacy of fic and art that is your gift to Snarry fen everywhere. I will miss the Games, and the people at the heart of it, intensely. And I'm so, so grateful that I came into fandom when you founded this fest, because I'll never forget it. That whole period of Snarry-love was incredibly intoxicating, and the Games were a large part of the reason why.
