Awesome job!!! I liked the echoes of V for Vendetta, and it made me want to watch MI5 and Spooks! The thing I was struck by is that it's not so far-fetched, really--we lost a lot of civil liberties under Bush in the US, and there were many abuses of power, detainees, discrimination against ethnic and religious groups. All as a result of 9/11. It wouldn't be such a big step to more of the same in the name of the economic crisis. Thank god another Republican wasn't elected. I don't think we'll go there under Obama.
But politics aside, the bit about how the magical world was antiquated and gullible, also struck home.
I loved Harry's character--still fighting the good fight and dealing with the judgments of the wizarding world for his actions.
And I loved the ELA--so desparate, savvy, committed, loving, harsh--all embodied in your wonderful characters--Hermione, Pansy, Justin, Dennis, all of them. Such a great gritty world, and so many details to make it real.
And Severus, sigh, Severus. Such a wonderful character. Such a delicious wooing of Potter, first to their side, then to his side.
Great job, and a wonderful closing story to the games.
