*huge grin* This is outstanding entertainment. I’ve seen your comic many times now, and it never loses its charm. So hilarious and adorable. Definitely one of my favourites in these Games, and I can’t wait to see what happens next, now that the little, temporarily crestfallen fellows are planning a new strategy… Poor Snape, as much as I love his no-nonsense approach and his stern ”study”, I doubt there’s much he can do to totally crush Harry’s hopes. And poor, hormone-driven Harry, I do sympathize with him; his disappointment is so palpable. And the falling heart in that picture - so cute and sad.
The helmsmen are brilliant, their dialogue both clever and amusing; they really sound and act like very genuine personifications of the often conflicting thoughts running through a teenager’s (or anybody’s, really) mind. And when they reach an understanding, everybody knows something scary or wonderful is about to happen. As when Harry has a crush on the ugly, snarky, nasty old bat (who’s actually rather handsome).
Broomstick! Score! *giggles* That frame never fails to amuse me. The bold and raunchy side’s unreserved excitement and waving about, the shy and restrained side’s quiet embarrassment and covered eyes, and Harry’s stupefied expression in the middle…priceless. And how much I love Harry’s punishment and the way he’s stooping to write that final I will not be a dunderhead! while Snape’s looking on. Dismissed balances the frame so perfectly.
Also, I could swear there’s a hint of affection in Snape’s voice when he calls Harry a dunderhead at the end. :)
