It turns out that het's much easier to write--I know how all the body parts fit together, and the damn pronouns don't have to be contorted to let the reader know what's happening.
Glad Harry's impatience came across; I wasn't sure if it would be too scattered. It was a hard scene to write because I got fidgety to match Harry, then exasperated to match Snape, and then focused on the potions details, and then fidgety.... Twitch.
Sometimes, I think I need to have my head examined. "I will take a horrifically cracky, squicky story premise, and make it angsty and poignant and hopeful. Yeah. Because the Snarry-reading world needs to think that Harry turns into Lily to boink Snape is a perfectly reasonable plot variation."
I await with horror the collection of time-travel fics where Harry goes back to the Marauder's era, polyjuices himself into the real Lily, and seduces Snape.
