I never in a million years imagined Severus and the Malfoys as surfers ... that's surprisingly hot! (Selkies, not such a surprise. But very nicely done!)

This is so lovely - I've always loved stories of selkies, and you've depicted Severus and draco as selkies beautifully.

I love myths and legends and your story was so beautifully and magically crafted. The way you used all the HP characters but in a totally Au non-magicall setting was brilliant. I loved that Draco was so protective of Severus and I loved Harry and Severus together. In fact, I loved this very unique and compelling story. Thanks so much.

This was beautiful. I love the idea of selkies and can just picture Severus and the Malfoys frolicking around in the water :) Luna as always is a pleasure to read.

Such a beautiful story! I love how you wove the Selkie myth and the HP characters together. I adore the idea of Lucius and Severus as surfers, and I think you told a great story. Well done, teammate!

Yay, it's up!
I just adore the pace of this, the development of the attraction between Severus and Harry worked really well (YUM!), as did the way you fit canon characters into this universe. The Draco/Luna was especially lovely.
As I told you before, I enjoyed this, despite the fact that I tend to avoid non-magic AUs -- although really, this sort of did have magic, just different magic, you know? *g* Anyway, it says something for your writing skill that you melded them so seamlessly into a new world. ;)
Well done, Teammate!
Also? The idea of Lucius on a surfboard is making me crack up. *g*

gotta say I love the idea of the Malfoy's and Severus as surfers cuz it's HOT. Also I loved the progression of this story, the slow built up of Severus and Harry's relationship was really well done. You also did a really good job at moving the characters into a new world without it feeling...umm superimposed? well the world you placed them all in just flowed smoothly. Great job!!

That was a very unusual, romantic and delightful story. A pleasure to read, and I kept looking for familiar faces popping up everywhere, and spotting everyone with new careers - surfing Malfoys! Excellent!

Along with the awesome things everyone else has said, I LOVE the fact that you wrote nurse!Harry (as opposed to him as a Healer or Mediwizard). Nurses are far underrepresented in fanfic, especially as main characters. Lovely story!

This one was full of surprises to me - I love the interweaving of mythology (selkies, the seal skin) with the mundane (Neville and Harry at subway).

And I believe "the coruscation of the sun" is the most unique phrase I have ever encountered in fic!

Oh well done! I think I remember reading a bit of this on the comm and was wondering what you had done with it. I love how it turned out! I adore non-magical AUs and the legends of the Selkies was wonderfully weaved in. The plot merged perfectly with the canon verse characters in their new mundane lives.

I can so see Draco as a surfer, Snape not so much.
Luna was fantastic and I loved the swimming lessons.
Very interesting concept and backstory.

Non-magic AUs are *so* not my thing, and yet you aded in Selkies and I was curious. And I'm so glad I read this story. I became absorbed in this world you created and really enjoyed the story. I'll definitely read this again. I'd even be happy to read more in this universe.

This was so much fun to read! I really *really* didn't want it to finish. *pouts*

I love the selkies being surfers. Of course Draco is a natural for this, but I think Severus is too. The first part, at the Center, really rocks - Luna is just wonderful everywhere in this story, but her elliptical references to Harry's "friend" the seal are just perfectly pitched to fit into the context and move the story along. Hermione is so IC as a manager of an environmental NGO! She and Ron are wonderfully done. As is Neville - and I love Harry and Neville being nurses! YAY nurses. We get enough Hero!Doctors in fanfic and they're usually just as much MarySue (or rather, GaryStu) prima donnas as in RL!

Also, Shacklebolt and Creevey, Sirius and Remus - your use of so much of the HP cast of characters was brilliant and fun.

The plot was cool. I was longing to see Severus become a selkie, or Harry's selkie blood to come out and him go underwater too, somehow. But one can dream of that. *happy smile* Mostly, I just loved this fic - it has one of the strongest beginnings, in terms of the words and setting and set-up, of any I've read in a while. Also, I love selkies. :-) But this was *good* selkie!fic, lol.

Finally, probably no one else will comment, b/c fandom is kinda a;lskdfja;fdj this way for some reason ... but YAY for the environmental themes! I was soooo delighted when you didn't just mention the pupping beaches and the seals getting hurt (or hunted, before), but described the marine rescue center and their work so beautifully. It really enriched the story and added depth to the picture of Harry as a nurse and a volunteer and a guy with friends, but no lover. In short, as someone with a "saving people" thing who can use a kind of saving, himself. It's lovely to see what a rich world of nature you integrated into the story, and how Hermione and Lily and Luna and others all cared about it, and took care of it. In a way, it's like the world of nature in this story fills the role that the wizarding world plays in canon - a special place or way of being, that's all around us "muggles" but we can't see it, that's under terrible threat from the kind of evil that includes greedy developers, and uncaring humans.

Or, maybe I'm just rambling, lol. :D Deep inner meaning or not, it's a terrifically fun, creative story!

I loved the selkie idea, and the fact that Severus and Draco surfed. Great job of weaving in canon people and canon occurrences in such a different way. I especially loved that Luna was still Luna. I really enjoyed reading this.

really magical! Harry makes such a perfect nurse, and all the HP characters are beautifully cast into their new world. But mysterious surfing Selkie Severus is so amazing. I love imagining him surfing the waves, then slipping beneath them into his sealish world.

beautiful job!

This was a lovely little story that I quite thoroughly enjoyed. I did find some things that went unanswered, though. For example, after James and Lily died, Harry was found on shore with the seal colony, and I wondered more about that time. Harry's unusual ability for swimming although he never learned how, coupled with his heritage, led me to believe that he, too, might be a selkie and was just not aware of it. In fact, I thought the skin in the box might have been Harry's and I was surprised when it was said to belong to Violetta. I do hope you revisit this universe so that we can learn what happens. :)
