I've always loved the idea that it was Snape telling Voldemort about the prophecy that gave Lily the opportunity to save Harry. It seemed like such a horrible thing to do but without that - no sacrifice. Comforting to know he made the right choices even if they felt wrong at the time. And of course he deserves one final Dumbledorean manipulation if it leads to those pensive scenes. Very nice.
