This was utterly satisfying and very clever, too. All those different scenarios started out so promisingly for Severus that it was devastating to see the desolate ending each of them had. I was impressed by how engaging and believable you managed to make the might-have-beens with just a few well-chosen scenes.
Remus, Lily, James and Sirius were surprisingly likable, but (quite unsurprisingly) I loved the interaction between Harry and Severus the most. Severus as Harry’s godfather was adorable, and I was fascinated by the warm teacher-student relationship in the third what-if. Also, because I’m not a Dumbledore fan, I felt rather gleeful seeing how powerless he appeared to be in the non-canon scenarios. Ha! And he admitted that Severus’ role was vital for their success.
The peek into Severus’ future was both funny and moving. I had a lump in my throat when he admired the dress robes, when Harry said "Oh, it's one of those mornings, is it?" and when he saw himself content with Harry.
