Best Animagus Fic EVER
On a very short list of my favorite fics from the Games, yours is #1. I don't see it being supplanted by any remaining entries to come down the digital pike. Nuh-uh. You just hit too many buttons. I love birds, I love their intelligence and behaviors. After your amazing set-up for this 'verse, to have the bright and cheerful snidget enter Severus's life was like throwing the reader a life-line. It was like bird porn, with all the adorable preening and nesting, all the varied vocalizations, and finally Severus figuring out that amazing sympathetic, magical harmonic for Light magic was just WOW. (I love you both, I love you both) The awesomely dark world ruled by Lord Thingy was terrifying. What you DID to him! The Naga lore, all the rest of the lore, in which the hybrid form was the ultimate godlike existence on this plane, yet Tom wasn't happy with it, and longed for his human shape - perfect, insane hubris. (Loves you) You took me for such a ride inside poor Snape's head. The night he went to sleep thinking it was his self-inflicted last night on earth was so wrenching. Then to have him awaken with the weight of boy on him was too sensual and wonderful. That Severus somehow triggered Harry's desire to return by allowing himself the final gift of intimacy and tender feeling when he let the snidget sleep over his heart, was such a lovely irony. All the extra scenes at the end extending the story were greatly appreciated. I was nervously checking the slide bar on the side to see how much story I had to go early on - like, in Part 1 - I didn't want this to end. As always, your illustrations added so much. Okay, squeeing fangirl rave over. PS - I was totally imagining Dan on Ellen doing those enticing things with his tongue when I read your description, lol. And I frequently, absolutely saw and heard Rickman's voice and facial expressions in the cadence of his words and descriptions of his movements. Beautiful. Like new footage of him in my brain. Not bad. *G*
